3)What is the author's message to the planet?
What is the theme?
I think the theme for this story is about Anne's dream
and how she lived through the hard times and the
secrets that kept her. It might just be an 13 year old
girl, but she actually went through hard times which
were recorded in her diary. She wanted freedom from
the secret annex and the play talks about what and
how she acted to the events in the annex. The girl was
very happy and crazy, but she became dark and a little
frightened as time passed

It can be infered by me that you are trying to say that the message is the need for freedom and the change in people because of dangerous situations. I would agree to these themes. Then again, even though it was hard times for the Jews, Anne almost never acted as if she was under opression. Only when she complained about the cramped space or when she involuntarily cried because of the absolute pressure of the whole crisis. Define 'crazy' and 'dark'. I will guess that 'hyper' and 'gloomy/depressed' is what you mean. If so, i sort of disagree to the second part. She does not become frightened, she becomes mature and still has a bit of her old, lively self (in the documentary, it said that Anne was happy [sort of] even in the concentration camps). Overall, i agree mostly.
I think you are in the right track, but i think the theme is not getting out because it talks about the famliy and how they work it out not how herself is going to work by herself and get out. Teamwork or realtionship is really important.
